The indefinite hunger strike by office bearers of DASS and Steno Cadre at gate no 3 at Delhi Secretariat entered the second day on Wednesday. The AAP Government has not shown any interest for their demand despite repeated memorandum given to them, said protesters.
“The Delhi Government is yet to take any concrete step to solve our problem. It wants to take efficient work from DASS and Steno cadre but does not want to provide them proper pay structure and promotional avenues. Even, it is surprised that Government takes work of an official of Grade Pay of `4600/ from an official of Grade Pay 1900/- but do not want to give him salary according to his work. Even, a steno employee gets only one promotion in their tenure of approx 27-28 years of service,” the press statement said.
A office bearer said that they have made their representations to the Home Ministry, lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung and the Delhi Government but nothing has happened. “They have expressed their sympathy but did nothing,” he said.
