Delhi Pradesh Congress on Thursday held Arvind Kejriwal responsible for the gang-rape of a Danish woman in Delhi and the inaction of the Delhi Government in the matter, held a demonstration headed by senior party leaders. Angry women demonstrators jammed traffic at the ITO Chowk. In the afternoon, thousands of Congress workers, with DPCC president Arvinder Singh lovely, marched towards the Delhi Secretariat.
Addressing demonstrators at the ITO Chowk, lovely warned the Delhi Government that it should take prompt steps to give justice to the woman who was gang-raped in Delhi. He said it was the responsibility of the Government that such incidents were not repeated, and should never ever happen. The demonstrators warned Kejriwal that in future he should not give infantile statements.
later Arvinder Singh lovely and Congress legislature party leader Haroon Yusuf, in a jointly-addressed Press conference, strongly condemning Kejriwal for attacks on women and the gang-rape of a foreign national said, before the elections Kejriwal had acted dramatically on every issue for personal glory, which is clearly evident now. They said the AAP never had any agenda for the safety and security of women.
They said the gang-rape of the foreigner was a huge blot on Delhi. They expressed surprise why the CM and his candlelight supporters were not doing anything now.
