A city court has awarded a compensation of over Rs 11 lakh to a bicycle rider who was hit by a 'Gramin Sewa' vehicle when he tried to avoid collision with a car whose driver flung open the door in complete disregard to the moving traffic.
The Motor Accidents Claim Tribunal presided by Dinesh Bhatt held the drivers and the owners of the negligently driver gramin sewa auto and the car were liable to pay compensation. The court directed the insurance companies of both the offending vehicles to pay 50 per cent each in one month.
