Curbing traffic chaos in Gzb with app, cameras

Published on:

Ghaziabad Senior Superintendent of Police KS Emmanuel launched a Traffic Offense Reporting application and provided body borne cameras to its traffic police constabulary on Wednesday.

SSP said after being equipped with such high-tech application and devices, the Ghaziabad Traffic Police would be able to regulate traffic smoothly.

The traffic offense reporting application has been provided to its 250 personnel, including SP and Deputy SP- level officers. Through this application, they can shoot an image of the traffic rules violator and send them to the traffic control room.

“Since the control room is connected with the regional transport department, the entire record of the traffic violator would be displayed on the screen.  With this, entire record available with police, the penalty note would be sent to violators’ address by post with the evidence of violation. So the major advantage of this device is that it would minimise the unnecessary confrontation

between the traffic police and the violator. It would control corruption also,” said

the SSP.

Giving details of the body borne cameras, the SSP said the camera has been provided by Ashu Yadav from law Abiding Technologies.

The camera is equipped with 32 GB storage capacity with 6 hours battery back-up.

The water proof camera contains a night vision lens which can shoot the image during night from 10 meter distance.

“Its major advantage is that the image cannot be deleted by the handler. Its deletion process could be done only at the control room. It would make the work easy for constables on duty,” the SSP added.
