Three persons, including a juvenile were apprehended for allegedly killing a 35-year-old vegetable supplier in South-East Delhi’s Sangam Vihar area. A case under Sections of 302 (murder), 201 (destruction of evidence) and 34 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered against them at Sangam Vihar Police Station.
Police said the accused have been identified as Rizwan (21), Arvind (20).
“The arrest was made on Thursday evening by a team led by Inspector Cl Meena from Sangam Vihar area. Initial investigation revealed that the accused persons along with the vegetable supplier, Satish, had hatched a plan to kidnap a local businessman’s son. When Satish had a change of heart, his cronies killed him and dumped his body in a nearby area,” the officer added.
Police fished out the body on December 22 and immediately initiated an investigation.
Since the body had not been claimed, area police plastered the locality with posters of the unidentified body. Seeing the posters, the victim’s relatives approached police on Wednesday morning. “After establishing the identity of the body, the call details records and technical surveillance helped police nab all the accused from their residence,” the officer added.
