A PCR call was received in the wee hours of Friday. A call was received at 4.17 am from a woman called Monika, wife of Anwar Thakur. She revealed that her husband had beaten her up and had left the house. The PCR staff immediately reached the spot and found the door of the house bolted from outside. The PCR staff opened the door and freed the complainant after which she revealed that her husband Anwar Thakur is a convict and is undergoing sentence in a murder case and is out on parole since May 5. She said that her husband was talking to someone suspiciously about some nefarious act on the occasion of Independence Day. Anwar then thrashed his wife and ran away with two of his accomplices. “Special Commissioner of Police, Operations Sundari Nanda has announced a reward of Rs 10,000 to each of the PCR official for prompt and tactful action, which has averted a potential subversive activity on the eve of Independence Day,” added Ranjan.
