Although the administration has installed cameras on Sadar bazaar and Jail road which help us to keep an eye on these locations,” Deputy Commissioner of police (crime), Sumit Kuhar, said.

“Anti-vehicle theft squads have tried hard to curb vehicle theft cases but criminals from the neighbouring district and shortage of manpower are the main reasons for increase in such cases,” said a police officer.

Similarly, cyber crime cases have seen a steep rise in the city. The Gurugram police said most complaints were related to Online Banking frauds, Facebook related, threat by phone calls, cyber bullying and cheating though Mobile and other under the Information Technology (IT) act.
