Creating hurdles in the functioning of the Delhi Government is like ‘betrayal to the country’, said Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal while addressing people at Chhatrashal Stadium on the eve of 70th Republic day on Friday.

The Chief Minister alleged his Government was stopped from buildings schools, hospitals and mohalla clinics in the city.  “I want to ask whether this is not betrayal to the country. Why is there politics in it? If my soldier sacrifices his life on the border, he does not see that he is saving the life of a person from the Bharatiya Janata Party or Congress or Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and instead, he sacrifices his life while protecting the country.”

Expressing concern, he said many pro poor projects initiated by the AAP Government are stopped and hurdles are created in many of such projects.

“The Government wants to  provide relief to the tune of Rs 1 crore to soldiers who sacrificed their lives while serving the nation. Further, it also wished to provide relief to the farmers but all such projects are being stopped,” he alleged.

Delhiites changed the politics of the country four years ago and elected a new Government of its kind in the national capital, he said, adding that today, the Government in Delhi is a “revolution and movement”.

He said that after getting freedom in 1947, it was dreamt that unemployed people and the farmers will get justice and education will be transformed but it is painful that even after 70 years, the dream could not be full filled.

Remembering the sacrifices of the freedom fighters like Sardar Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru, Chandra Sekhar Azad, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Ashfaq Ulla Khan and others in liberating Mother India, Kejriwal said that the Delhi Government stepped up in bringing remarkable changes and to fulfill the dream of forefathers.

Lauding the efforts taken by Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia, he said that Sisodia transformed the entire the education system, atmosphere in school, adding new curriculum such as “happiness curriculum”. Now, a wonderful initiative as “entrepreneur curriculum” is introduced which will change the fate of thousands of students as it will help them to start their own enterprises.
