A couple was found dead in their rented apartment in South Delhi's Sangam Vihar area on Thursday morning. Chinmoy Biswal, Additonal Deputy Commissioner of Police identified the deceased couple as Ram Chandra, 30 and Nitu, 28.

The officer said the bodies of the couple were discovered by another tenant who lives on the first floor. “Ramchandra was found hanging from the ceiling fan while her wife Nitu was lying on bed. As per the scene of the room it looks like couple committed suicide in front of their four-month-old kid. We have not found any suicide note from the room. Cause of death will be ascertained only after the post-mortem,” said the officer.

Ramchandra's uncle Mohar Singh, 35, who lives a few blocks away, said, “Around 5 am, other tenants heard the child crying loudly. As he did not stop crying, they decided to check the room. When they knocked the room, they found door was open. Nitu’s body was lying on the bed and Ramchandra was found hanging from the ceiling fan. They immediately called me and informed me about the situation.”

He further added, we immediately made a PCR call and took both of them to the AIIMS hospital where both were declared brought dead.
