A known fashion designer of the Capital, Jattinn Kochhar, was allegedly browbeaten by the staff of Naraina police station of South-West Delhi when he had gone there to lodge a FIR against an errant Government employee.
The police played a partisan role and threatened to book the fashion designer on the charges of preventing a Government employee from discharging his or her duty. Kochhar was forced to write a compromise as the Investigating officer (IO) refused to heed to his grievance and pressurised him to enter into a compromise with the other party.
Kochhar resides along with his family at A-2, Naraina Vihar near Ring Road. “There was some construction work going on in house no A-1 nearby his home and the construction workers had blocked the lane after parking their JCB machine opposite the entrance gate and also put all the construction materials at the entrance gate of the locality,” he alleged.
On Friday morning, Kochhar was going to a nearby bank but the driver of the JCB machine parked his vehicle on the entrance gate and the lane was blocked. He tried to find out the driver but he could not. In the afternoon, when the victim along with his family members were going to leave their guest so again they found that JCB was parked on the same spot.
“After seeing off their guest, they were returning when they spotted the driver. They asked him that where he had gone and they were looking for him since morning. He started shouting at them and when the victim and his mother objected, the errant driver entered into an altercation with them and abused the victim’s mother. When the victim’s younger brother, Satyan Kochhar intervened, the driver slapped him and started abusing him after tearing his clothes off,” the victim alleged.
later, the victim made a PCR call and informed the police about this matter. They were taken to Naraina police station where the victim wanted to lodge a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused. But the victim Kochhar alleged that when he had gone to lodge a complaint against an errant Government employee for allegedly beating his family members, the IO did not attend them properly. later, pressurised him after saying that a separate case will also be lodge against his family members for assaulting a Government employee during duty hours.
