With the details of calls of arrested cricketers coming up, significant information has been emerging. One of the calls intercepted by the police between Ajit Chandila and his wife has revealed that Chandila’s wife was surprised with the huge amount money being sent to home by him.
Sources in the Special Cell said during a conversion between couple, Chandila’s wife Sarita asked him about the money sent to her. “She questioned Chandila and asked him how he is getting the money even before the IPl season is over. But he told his wife to just keep the money saying that few things couldn’t be discussed on the phone,” sources said.
Calls traced by the police also point outs that bookies tried to fix spots in others matches too but the plan could not be executed due to dramatic turns of event. Following the spot was fixed, Sreesanth and Chandila were supposed to collectively give away 28 runs in their successive overs in the match, which was played with Kolkata Knight Riders. The deal turned flop as Sreesanth and Chandila were not included in the final squad for that particular match. The match was to be played at Kolkata on May 3.
Meanwhile, custodial interrogation of three arrested Rajasthan Royals players Shreesanth, Ankeet Chavan and Chandila has revealed that bookie Chandresh Patel alias Chand Bhai who hails from Mumbai was well prepared for this IPl season and had done all preparation over months ago for fixing.
He had also met other bookies to fix deals. Chandila was the first player they had contacted and had shown interest to meet him personally. Two other bookies Mamman and Amit Singh also joined in the meeting. The meeting took place on April 6 at Country Club, Gurgaon. The bookies took Ajit Chandila in their car and reached the location.
