Cops arrest cash-strapped bizman for nephew's killing

The Delhi Police has arrested a debt-ridden businessman for allegedly killing his five-year-old nephew on Monday. The body was found dead near a drain. The boy had been missing since Friday. He was kidnapped from North-East Delhi’s Wazirabad area by his uncle Amit Gupta and his associate Rehman.

“Amit disclosed he had incurred a huge debt of Rs20 lakh in his mobile spare parts business and desperately needed liquid cash. His business partner Rehman was also in debt. Hence, both thought they would make easy money via ransom and the victim’s family would not complain to the police either,” said Additional Commissioner of Police (North-East) VV Chaudhary.

Before going to Amit Gupta’s residence, the child had informed his mother he was headed to his uncle’s place. His uncle had supposedly promised him a tablet as a gift. When family and friends asked Gupta about it, he feigned ignorance.
