A Delhi police constable posted at Jaitpur police station was suspended after a judge of a Delhi Court filed an FIR against him for allegedly misbehaving with her while she was present at Yamuna Ghat of Southeast Delhi’s Jaitpur area.

The case was registered on April 3 at Jaitpur police station.

In the FIR, the complainant alleged that she with her husband and seven-year-old son had gone to Yamuna Ghat of Kalindi Kunj to throw puja offering into Yamuna when the constable Ravinder Kumar misbehaved with her.

She said in a complaint, “Kumar was completely drunk and clicked my pictures. When I asked the reason of clicking my pictures he abused and misbehaved with me”.

In the FIR, she also said the constable threatened to register a fake criminal case against her as he is posted in Delhi Police.  ‘Abhi dekhta hun kaha jaegi mujhse bachke’ (How will you escape from me); ‘Apne apko judge banti hai (You think you are a judge);’ Teri naukri na kharab kee toh kehna (I dare you I will spoil your career).

The complainant requested police to initiate appropriate actions against the constable over his threatening tone and violent conduct

towards her.

The Delhi Police registered a case in Jaitpur police station under IPC section 341 (Punishment for wrongful restraint), 354 A (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) and 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman.)
