A Delhi Traffic Police constable was arrested and suspended for allegedly stalking a 17-year-old girl in East Delhi’s Gandhi Nagar area. The accused policeman posted at Gandhi Nagar Traffic Circle was manhandled by the victim’s parents and locals after he was caught red-handed stalking the girl on Tuesday evening.
“On the basis of the victim’s complaint, an FIR was filed at the local police station and Constable Anil Kumar was arrested. He was suspended from his duty as well,” a police
officer said.
A few days ago, the victim, a second year student of B.Com at Delhi University’s School of Open learning, reportedly told her parents that a traffic constable was stalking her while on the way to home from her tuition classes. On this, her parents asked her to alert them the next time he stalks her.
“On Tuesday evening about 6 pm, Anil allegedly repeated his action. The girl immediately called her parents who reached the spot and caught him red-handed,” added the officer.
