With flashing RTI reports and other documents against the AAP Government, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Ajay Maken has alleged that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has spread false information about the huge amount of money saved by his Government on the construction of several flyovers in the Capital.
AAP spokesperson Deepak Bajpai slammed Maken’s accusations and said the Congress had ruined Delhi.
While showing documents, Makan said flyover from Vikaspuri to Meerabagh was tendered for Rs 407 crore in February 2013 but the ruling Government in Delhi has spent Rs 450 crore on it and still other works like horticulture, rain harvesting, rainwater pipe etc is pending.
“This Government has made a loss of Rs 43 crore whereas CM blatantly lies that he has saved crores of rupees in the construction of this flyover. The truth is the Congress Govern-ment had sanctioned Rs 560 crore in June 2012 for this flyover,” said Makan and displayed RTI reports on the matter.
“In December 2012, Rs 464 crore was taken as the estimated cost. In February, 2013, after competitive tendering Rs 407 crore was fixed as the cost of the project and sanctioned by the Government. But shamelessly, the AAP Government spread the word that they have saved Rs 110 crore; calculation falsely based on the sanctioned amount of Rs 560 crore in June 2012, rather than the competitively tendered amount of Rs 407 crore,” he further added.
Same is true in the constructions of Mangolpuri to Madhuban Chowk flyover, Madhuban Chowk to Mukarba Chowk cases, he said.
Bajpai said, “Maken is unemployed. The Congress is the most corrupt party. It ruined Delhi. Our Government has already made it clear in the Assembly about how we have saved money while making the flyovers. It is the Congress Government that is discredited with how they performed during the Commonwealth Games and gave flawed estimates while constructing the bridges in the city. They stand exposed.”
