Cong welcomes LG’s decision for CBI probe into liquor policy

The Delhi Congress on Friday welcomed Lieutenant-Governor Saxena’s decision to recommend a CBI probe into the Delhi Government’s Excise Policy, 2021-22, as it accused the AAP dispensation of being “knee-deep in corruption”.

Delhi Congress president Anil Kumar alleged that there has been a lot of corruption following the implementation of the new liquor policy and said his party has been raising this issue for a long time.

The Delhi Congress had given a written complaint to Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana in June seeking a probe into the “corruption”, but no action was taken, he alleged.

“The truth cannot be hidden and the truth is that the AAP Government in Delhi is knee-deep in corruption,” Kumar said.

“The L-G, in his recommendation for a CBI probe into the new excise policy, has stated that Minister Satyendar Jain, who is in jail for the past two months in a money laundering case, was the frontman for Arvind Kejriwal’s corrupt deals. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot will be the next to go to jail,” he claimed.
