Amid rumours that Congress was toying with the idea of foisting AAP Government again in Delhi, Congress on Tuesday sought to scotch the rumours that there was any proposal or a move in this regard. On the other hand, AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal met lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung fuelling speculation about formation of Government in Delhi. Delhi Congress president Arvinder Singh lovely and Congress spokesperson Ajay Maken debunked the very talk that there was any such development. “Under no circumstance Congress will support AAP to form Government in Delhi.

They ran away last time dashing hopes and aspirations of the electorate,” Maken tweeted in the afternoon on Tuesday. This has raised speculation in the political circle that after losing New Delhi lok Sabha elections, Maken has become active in the Delhi politics. later addressing a Press conference, Delhi Congress president Arvinder Singh lovely ruled out extending support to the party if it tries to return to power. lovely also repeated the tweet of Maken at the Press conference saying ‘under no circumstances Congress would extend support to AAP to form Government as they ran away last time dashing hopes and aspirations of people of Delhi. The party would prefer fresh Assembly elections rather than backing Kejriwal who “betrayed” the people of Delhi by quitting power in February. It is Congress’ decision that under no circumstances we will we extend support to AAP. There is no question of supporting AAP again,” lovely said.

Apart from this, there is a section in the Delhi Congress who wants Kejriwal to form the Government in Delhi to create nuisance against Narendra Modi Government. However, there are others who opine that Congress will be finished if it again supported the AAP Government.

Accusing Kejriwal of helping BJP in lok Sabha polls, the Congress leaders said the result of the parliamentary election has proved that AAP was a ‘B’ team of the saffron party. “AAP has extended support to BJP’s agenda in Delhi and the country during the lok Sabha elections. There is no reason why we should extend support to a party which has benefited BJP,” lovely, flanked by senior Delhi Congress leaders Mukesh Sharma and Haroon Yusuf, said.

Alleging that Kejriwal “helped” BJP by ensuring division of “secular votes” in Delhi and elsewhere, lovely said, “Congress will not support people who help communal forces, who implement the agenda of BJP and RSS.”
