Cong plans door-to-door campaign against AAP

The Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president, Ajay Maken, on Wednesday announced to hold a door-to-door campaign from June 19 to 26 against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

In the campaign, they will make people “aware” of the “false promises” made by the Delhi Government in all the 21 Assembly constituencies of the MlAs who were found holding office for profit.

According to DPCC, the campaign launched is to make people aware of the “false and hollow promises” and the “betrayal of the people” by the AAP Government, in all the 21 Assembly constituencies from where the AAP MlAs were appointed as Parliamentary Secretaries to Ministers against rules, and seeking their resignation, after the rejection of the Bill by the Central Government, validating the appointment by the AAP Government.

Addressing a Press conference at the DPCC office, Ajay Maken said, “The door-to-door campaign would fully expose the Kejriwal Government, who had made tall promises to the people, and vowed to practice clean politics, but has turned out to be power hungry, craving for power and self.”

“He said nowhere in the country one-third of the total strength of the MlAs has been appointed as Parliamentary Secretaries to Ministers with facilities like Ministers, including Government vehicles with beacon lights and office space in the Secretariat,” he added.

He said one of the major issues of the Anna Hazare movement, in which Kejriwal was on the forefront, was the “right to recall” of the elected representatives, and wondered why he was not asking for the resignation of the 21 MlAs and shying away from holding elections to  these 21 Assembly constituencies.
