Delhi Congress president Ajay Maken on Monday attacked the AAP Government for “delaying” the Jan lokpal Bill and skipping its tabling in the Assembly in the coming session. “Your Government has already lost six sessions of the Assembly to enact the much needed Jan lokpal,” Maken said urging Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to “revisit” his decision to not delay it further.
The party has reportedly decided to hold demonstration against the delay in the enactment of the anti-graft law outside the Delhi Assembly on November 18.
In a letter to the CM, Maken said he was extremely disappointed with the delay in enacting the Jan lokpal law. “Though an extremely hard sold promise by your party during both the Assembly elections (2013 and 2015), it has been time and again delayed by your Government. The latest reports suggest that, you have yet again decided not to table the bill even during the coming session of the Delhi legislative Assembly.”
