Congress threatens against slowdown of work started by Dikshit Government

The Congress would take to streets against the AAP Government if development works started by the previous Congress’ Government slowed down, the New Delhi Congress president Arvinder Singh lovely warned on Sunday. On the day of officially taking charge, former Education Minister of Delhi minced no words, saying the party would not tolerate any ‘undemocratic activities’.

Commenting on the support of the Congress to the AAP, lovely said that Congress’ outside support to the AAP to form Government in Delhi should not be interpreted as endorsement of its policies. “The Congress decided to give outside support to the present Delhi Government respecting the sentiments of the people, so that the new Government could fulfil the promises it made to the people,” he said.

Criticising the AAP Government, Congress general secretary Janardan Dwivedi said that AAP has no ideology and anarchy has won the elections. “They have misled the people. The Congress has lost the election in Delhi; the party has not lost its programmes and policies,” said Dwivedi, adding that seeing the confidence and enthusiasm of the party workers, they were confident that the Congress would soon be back to its old strength and power. Senior leaders, including in-charge of Delhi affairs Shakeel Ahmad, former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, AICC general secretary and MP Ajay Maken and Union Minister Kapil Sibal, among others were also present.
