Cong demands all-party meet to discuss Covid

With the situation turning grimmer due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the national capital, Delhi Congress president Anil Kumar demanded an all-party meeting to discuss ways in containing the fast spreading Omicron variant.

Kumar said that the weekend lockdown imposed by the Delhi Government will impact the livelihood of daily wage earners, house maids, labourers and other sections of poor people, as they are not covered by any financial package by the Government. The Congress president also said that the limited curfew will not serve anything but will add rush due to the odd-even closure of shops during weekdays.

Attacking the Delhi Government for not “learning” any lessons from previous devastation caused due to Covid, he said that despite realizing that a third wave of the pandemic was round the corner, Kejriwal made false assurances to the people that there was no reason to panic, but when Covid cases doubled and trebled in a couple of days, the government left the people in lurch instead of taking measures to contain it.

Meanwhile, Sunil Kumar, Chairman of the Legal and Human Rights Department of the Delhi Congress has written to Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, seeking exemption from uploading latest OBC (non-creamy layer) certificates for the post of ‘Trained Graduate Teacher’ (TGT) advertised by DSSSB.
