Cong: Budget anti-poor, anti-Dalit, anti-youth

Delhi Congress president Anil Kumar termed the Budget presented by the Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia as anti-poor, anti-Dalit and anti-youth.

Kumar alleged that like in the past, Sisodia had indulged in a gimmick by calling it the “Rojgar Budget” to mock the unemployed youth, as Delhi has the highest unemployment rate in the country at 45.5 per cent.

He said that in 2018, Sisodia had presented a “Green Budget”, but four years down the line, by 2022, Delhi had become the most polluted Capital in the world, and the fourth most polluted city in the world!

Reacting on the budget to the media, Kumar said that 15,34,832 youth have registered with the Delhi Government’s employment portal, and Sisodia was only rubbing salt into their wounds by naming the budget “Rojgar Budget”. He asked whether the Rs 800 crore allotted was for the welfare of the AAP workers or for the unemployed.

The Congress president said the Delhi Chief Minister had boasted about the “Delhi Model of Education” everywhere, but the allocation for education has been reduced, which will only further dent the aspirations of students from poor families. He said that Rs 13,881 crore had been allocated for education in the last budget, which was slashed to Rs 13,691 crore this time, proving the Arvind Government’s lop-sided priority for education.
