Sandeep Kumar, the State Minister for SC/ST/OBC/ Minorities, has called in a high-level meeting on Tuesday to discuss reported embezzlement of Rs1,358.67 lakh in the name of computer training to SC/ST/OBC students between 2001 and 2005. The Delhi State Finance Development Corporation (DSFDC), however, is not providing necessary documents to auditors for CAG audit.
According to sources, the CAG audit may expose how bogus computer training centres — claiming to provide skill development training to SC/ST/OBC candidates — have been opened just to collect funds from the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment under National Schedule Caste Finance & Development Corporation.
As per the motto of the new AAP Government, to run a corruption-free State, the officials are being extra vigilant in this case. The meeting will be attended by Principal Secretary (Finance), Principal Secretary (SC/ST/OBC) and CMD of SC/ST/OBC department. Notably, ex-Minister in the Congress Government, Raj Kumar Chauhan was holding the charge of SC/ST/OBC department during 2002-04.
