Prosecution has not yet recorded the statement of the Russian woman allegedly involved in a high-profile sex racket before the concerned magistrate. Also, Colonel (Retd) Ajay Ahlawat, whose name also figured prominently in this racket, has not responded to three police summons.
The woman was found by the Income Tax officials during the raid at the Safdarjung Enclave residence of prime accused PN Sanyal. The investigating officer has confiscated the passport of the Russian woman as her statement under Section 164 of the CrPC has not been recorded.
Police officials said they intend to confront Sanyal, Ahlwat along with the Russian woman to get to the bottom of the racket. Her statement will be recorded once Ahlawat is traced.
“The woman was born in Uzbekistan but has been living in Russia ever since. She has a running business in Russia. She also has a Russian passport. Her visa expires on August 24 this year,” said the police official.
When asked why her statement has not been recorded yet, the official said, “We had recorded her statement under Section 161 CrPC. Her statement was to be recorded before the magistrate on July 22 but that was not done as the Investigating Officer wanted to investigate the role of other players,”
Meanwhile, a police source said the woman’s statement is not being recorded as she might retract her allegations before the court and that might weaken the case.
The source further said, Sanyal was an informer to many top Income Tax inspectors, whom he would give sensitive scoop on important personalities and for which he would take commission. “When Sanyal stopped getting payments from the inspectors for the inside information, he started blackmailing them by saying that he would spill the beans if he did not get his dues,” the source said.
Meanwhile, police said the woman alleged that IT officials harassed her and did not let her eat or sleep for three days. “According to the woman, her hair was pulled up and she was not allowed food or sleep for three days. She was also allegedly not allowed to take her anti-depressant medicines. She was made to sign on various papers without her reading the same,” the official said.
“She had also said that she had met Ahlawat at her ex-boyfriend Saurabh’s house in Sariska in Rajasthan. When she was asked about the relationship she shared with Sanyal, she said they were like husband and wife,” said the official.
The Pioneer has access to the chats between the woman and Ahlawat whom she used to address as ‘Ally Sir’. In few of her chats, she had written to Ahlawat, “Preet keep me as slave. Even his servant Hari ram always with me. Can’t meet with you Ally Sir. I just wait in the park around one hour.”
In one chat between Sanyal and Ahlawat, Sanyal wrote, “Sir Pls call Francis. Why take girl for 1 day. Take her for atleast 2-4 days. Better. This is touch and back”.
