According to police, the incident came to light on Monday morning when the victim approached the Model Town police station. An FIR has been registered under Sections of rape (376) and Sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act added, since the victim is minor.
According to the statement given by the victim to police, she had gone to the Chhatrasal stadium on July 9 where she met the main accused, who is in his thirties. He claimed that he was a stadium official and tried to befriend her. It has been revealed that the girl had come for practice when she was approached by the accused. On the pretext of showing her around, the accused took the minor girl outside the stadium and offered her cold drink laced with sedatives and raped her.
