Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday flagged off 70 mobile vans for registration of people aged 70 years and more under the Ayushman Bharat Vaya Vandana Yojna that gives a health cover of `10 lakh. Flagging off a mobile van for registrations under the health insurance scheme in RK Puram constituency, the Chief Minister said since the launch of the scheme in Delhi on April 28, over 28,000 registrations have been done in the last five days.

The Chief Minister said, “Two computer operators sit in the van. 70 vans will move to 70 constituencies to make registration of people aged above 70 years for Vaya Vandana Card for 70 days. It has been launched on the occasion of 70 days of the Delhi government. Let them get the cards soon. It is to release the dream of PM Narendra Modi to extend the Ayushman Bharat Yojana to everyone. I want to extend my good wishes. Arvind Kejriwal is the culprit of the senior citizens for stopping the scheme for so long.

“The Delhi government will ensure registration of each eligible elderly person in Delhi under the scheme because their blessings are invaluable for us. Vaya Vandana is a unique scheme not only in the country but also in the entire world,” Gupta said.

During the launch of the mobile registration van, the Chief Minister Rekha Gupta accompanied by her Cabinet colleague Manjinder Singh Sirsa and local MLA Anil Sharma, also distributed Ayushman health cards to some elderly beneficiaries for cashless treatment at designated hospitals in the city.

The Chief Minister Rekha Gupta called on all elected representatives, RWAs, and senior citizen centres to support the campaign. She also directed District Magistrates and relevant officials to ensure swift and effective execution so that no eligible senior citizen is left out.

The Chief Minister Rekha Gupta  informed that these vans will travel to various parts of the city to help people register for the scheme and obtain their cards.
