CM Kejriwal is another name of corruption: BJP

Published on:

The Delhi BJP on Friday staged a protest at Ring Road close to the Delhi Assembly, demanding the resignation of Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia who is a prime accused in the alleged liquor scam case.

The protest was led by the BJP State president Adesh Gupta. Several senior party leaders including Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, former Union Minister Vijay Goel, MPs Manoj Tiwari, Pravesh Sahib Singh Verma and Ramesh Bidhuri also participated in the protest.  The protesting BJP workers also shouted slogans like “Gaali gaali shor hai, Manish Sisodia chor hai” and burnt the effigies of AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal and Sisodia. The BJP protesters tried to break the barricades near the Delhi Assembly, but the police used a water canon to disperse them.

Addressing the protest, Gupta alleged that Kejriwal is another name of corruption and he is the most corrupt CM this country has ever witnessed.

“Which development model does Kejriwal keep talking about? Opening liquor vends in the streets of Delhi? Colluding with liquor mafia to siphon crores of rupees? Getting women protesting against the opening of liquor vends beaten up by bouncers and playing with the future of Delhi by making youth addicted to alcohol is the development model he talks about,” Gupta said.

“When corruption in the Excise Policy has been exposed, Kejriwal has kept silence. It is the same Kejriwal who keeps expressing his views on the problems happening not only in Delhi but in the country, but today when allegations are leveled against him, one wonders why he is maintaining a stoic silence,” Gupta added.

BJP MP Pravesh Sahib Singh Verma said that jail is the place for people who loot Delhi’s treasury in league with the liquor mafia, not the Cabinet.

“Under the new liquor policy, a bribe of crores of rupees was given to Manish Sisodia to increase the commission from 2.5 per cent to 12 per cent and Rs 150 crore was given to Sisodia as its first installment,” he alleged.

Union Minister Vijay Goel said that while the country was facing the Corona pandemic crisis, Kejriwal was preparing a plan to loot the Capital. Instead of providing facilities to Delhiites during Covid, they were preparing to fill their pockets.
