CM gives credit to MlAs for getting l-G nod

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday credited his legislators for compelling the lieutenant-Governor to clear the Mohalla Clinic file by camping at his official residence.

Addressing a gathering at the inauguration of developmental work in Bawana constituency, Kejriwal said that the AAP Government would have carried many other developmental works in the Capital, “had hurdles not been created.”

“You must have read in newspapers about Mohalla Clinics. We were constructing Mohalla Clinics across the city to provide free medical assistance to poor people. But even its file was blocked. I Thank our MlAs, who camped inside the l-G’s house and forced him to clear the file,” Kejriwal said.

The Arvind Kejriwal led-Delhi Government which has had frequent run-ins with the l-G saw another confrontation when the delegation of 43 AAP legislators camped at Raj Niwas, urging the l-G to clear the file that approves the construction of mohalla clinics in the Capital.

Kejriwal said even after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has vested all the powers to the l-G, the AAP has managed to do a lot of developmental work in the Capital.

“If our Government had all the powers, we could have carried more developmental work to benefit the people of Delhi,” he said.

Thanking people of Bawana by voting for the AAP in the recently held by- polls, Kejriwal said that as promised the Government has sanctioned the money to construct roads and drainage system in the area.

Taking a dig at the Congress, Kejriwal said unlike Sheila Diskshit’s Government who could not manage to lay water pipelines in the past 15 years, the AAP Government has laid water pipelines in 306 kacchi colonies in Delhi in  two and half years of their governance.

Kejriwal said the government has also decided to build 1000 sewer in kacchi colonies in their next two and half years in the office.
