Hitting back at Narendra Modi for his blistering attack on Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, Delhi Congress on Sunday dared him to fight election against her even as the CM herself chose to project development agenda of her Government, saying her work is visible in the city.
Addressing a rally at Paschim Vihar, Dikshit said her Government has been working very hard to ensure welfare of all communities while carrying out an inclusive development agenda for the city. Her Cabinet colleague, Raj Kumar Chauhan, however, slammed Modi for attacking Dikshit and challenged him to contest against her in the Assembly elections. Terming Modi as a divisive figure, Chauhan alleged that the Gujarat Chief Minister helped Delhi BJP financially for the rally at Japanese Park.
“He is a divisive figure. If he has guts then he should contest Assembly election against Sheila Dikshit. His politics is to divide society. People of Delhi will never accept such communal politics,” said Chauhan in the presence of the CM.
“The Gujarat Chief Minister helped the Delhi BJP with funds to hold the rally,” he alleged. He said that Modi did not have time to visit the flood-affected areas in his State. Dikshit also accused Opposition of misleading people with false promises of reduction in power tariffs by 30 per cent. “They can fulfil their assurance by effecting 10 hours of power cut, which will reduce your bills by 30 per cent. The Government is providing round-the-clock power supply and Opposition is going to give 12-hour supply,” chided Dikshit. We have been working for the masses whereas Opposition has no policies or agenda for the public, she averred.
