Taking a dig at BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Wednesday asked the people to keep out the forces involved in "dividing" the country and "spreading hatred".

"The narrow ideology is not in the interest of the society as well as the country. People must keep away the forces involved in dividing the country and spreading hatred," she said. The Chief Minister was speaking after inaugurating a newly-built school complex at Jahangirpuri in North Delhi.

later, during a foundation stone laying function of a DDA project at A-14 Kalkaji, Dikshit stated that there is a need to work in tandem with all agencies concerned in order to make Delhi a slum-free city. However, it has been the priority of the Government to rehabilitate JJ dwellers under in-situ development in the city as far as possible. Dikshit said that the multi-storeyed dwelling units where 3,000 JJ families would be rehabilitated in its first phase.

Each flat will include one drawing room, one bed room, one kitchen, one toilet and one balcony. One primary and one middle school within the project premises will also be provided. Anaganwadi facilities — including primary health centres, space for religious activities and three parks — will be provided. The remaining 5,000 slum dwelling units will be rehabilitated in the second phase. South Delhi MP Ramesh Kumar and MlA Subhash Chopra also expressed their views. Speaking at the occasion, Chopra highlighted Delhi Government's efforts to make Delhi a world-class city.

Dikshit also laid a foundation stone of an air-conditioned Community Centre at Sriniwaspuri to come up over an area of 2,555 sq m. It will have four floors and would be constructed at a cost of Rs 10.25 crore. It would be constructed under the Green Building Concept and would have features as STP, use of recycled water, rainwater harvesting and fly ash bricks. The Community Centre will have party halls, gym, library, store room, offices and guest rooms.
