In a shocking incident, a class X student, a resident of Shivpuri in Gurugram, allegedly committed suicide by jumping before a train near the sector-9 railway crossing on Monday late night.
According to the police, the deceased was under depression over his preparations for upcoming examinations which were scheduled from Tuesday. Police have not recovered a suicide note from the spot. His scooter was found parked near the railway tracks.
A day before the incident the family of the victim had filed a missing person complaint at New Colony police station. The police team along with the boy’s family was searching him across the city.
“A passerby informed us about the incident that a body was lying in a pool of blood near sector-9 railway crossing. We immediately informed the local police and handed over the body for autopsy,” said Inspector Pawan Kumar, of Government Railway Police (GRP) police station.
The Police also claimed that before committing suicide the boy parked his scooter near the crossing and went towards railway track on his own and when he noticed the train was coming he jumped before the train. He was badly crushed under the train and died on the spot.
“The body has been handed over to the family after an autopsy. The investigation into the matter is on. The police team looking for CCTV footage of the nearby place to get some clue if someone else involved in the crime, said Ravinder Kumar, Gurugram Police spokesperson.
