Dy Commissioners to arrange TVs for live telecast of PM’s Teacher’s Day address

All three municipal corporations have asked Deputy Commissioners to arrange TVs and lCDs in schools for the live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech on Teacher’s Day. BJP leaders are leaving no stone unturned to make arrangements for the live telecast of PM’s address on September 5. The Directorate of Education (DoE) of Delhi Government recently issued a notification directing all private as well as Government schools to organise a broadcast of the Prime Minister’s address and a Q & A session with schoolchildren via television or Internet from 3 pm to 4.45 pm.

“All DCs of every zone have been directed to make arrangements of TVs, lCDs, screens and set-top boxes for the project. Besides, schools are also given Rs 50,000 for annual expenditure. If school managements take TV or lCD and set-top boxes on rent, it will not cost them more,” Ashish Sood, a councillor from Janakpuri and president of SDMC education committee, said. In South Delhi, there are around 658 municipal schools in which 3.10 lakh students are studying.

“We are ensuring that all these students watch the live telecast of PM’s address,” he said. Councillors have also been asked to ensure the programme is successful. The DoE notification came following an order by the Ministry of Human Resources Development that all schools throughout the country will have to make arrangements so that students can watch the Prime Minister’s live address on TV.
