The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s “Shadow Cabinets” for corporations claim to have found several loopholes and lapses in the corporation-run schools and hospitals during their surprise visits to these facilities.
They alleged that while the schools were found functioning without any security guard, there was also lack of CCTV cameras, lack of basic amenities like fresh RO drinking water and highly deplorable condition of toilets. The AAP alleged that corporation schools are “mocking” at “Swachchh Bharat Abhiyaan” as cleanliness is apparantely missing here.
AAP leaders said on Friday that the Shadow Cabinet of health for South Corporation and Shadow Cabinet of education for East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) made several surprise visits on facilities and found “huge” lapses.
While the South Corporation Shadow Cabinet visited schools for a reality check, the East Shadow Cabinet took stock of hospitals falling under its jurisdiction.
The AAP alleged that there is also lack of teachers and even those who are there are assigned administrative work. Moreover, they found the quality of mid-day meal not satisfactory.
Some of the schools inspected were lado Sarai Boys & Girls, Saidulajaib, Sec 1 Pushp Vihar, Sec 5, Pushp Vihar, Sec 3 Pushp Vihar and others.
The AAP Shadow Cabinet of EDMC which took stock of the health facilities in Seemapuri hospital allegedly found that the operation theatre is not working for a year as there is no inverter or generator in the hospital and also there is no Wi-Fi and the server system. Also they found no vaccine available for Measles and Typhoid in the hospital.
