Civic bodies busy passing buck than clearing garbage: Cong

The garbage crisis seem to be unending as the municipal Corporations responsible to clear the mess are busy in passing the buck, Delhi Congress president Anil Kumar said after all three BJP- ruled  municipal Corporations in the national Capital performed ‘poorly’ in Swachh Survekshan 2020 announced by the Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs on Thursday.

Kumar said that all the three MCDs feature at the bottom in the rankings among the 47 cities surveyed under the ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’.

“The BJP has been in power at the MCDs for the last 15 years with Narendra Modi heading the Government at the Centre. Interestingly, the MCDs gave no attention to Modi’s Swachh Bharat campaign call and the Capital became a cesspool of dirty water, mountains of garbage and overflowing drains.

Kumar said that the Kejriwal Government should take equal blame for Delhi’s dirty tag as it has been in power for over six years, and has done nothing for the up-keep of the Capital.
