‘delhi govt’s corrupt practices exploit contract workers’

leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta on Wednesday said due to corrupt practices of the Delhi Government’s officers and labour contractors as well as their mutual connivance, the contract workers in Delhi are being grossly exploited. “They have been working for the last 15 years for 12 hours a day. They are being paid meager `8,000 per month in place of `18,000 as per Minimum Wages Act. `4,000 per worker for funds, insurance etc is also being siphoned-off. They are being heavily underpaid as well as physically and mentally harassed under the very nose of the Chief Minister. Despite knocking at every door, no one has listened to their genuine grievances,” he said.
