In its bid to make its flagship scheme Doorstep Delivery (DSD) more effective among masses, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government has nodded in affirmation to a proposal of the Administrative Reforms Department to authorise it to take all operational decisions for its successful implementation and expansion of the project.

It would be pertinent to mention here that considering the number of calls on the dedicated lines soon after the launch of scheme, within two days of the launch, the Primary Rate Interface (PRI) Lines have been increased to six (180 Channels) and the Call Executives were increased to 64 and 150 next day.

“Thus, taking into account the feedback call, complaint handling and addition of 60 more services (30 in second phase and 30 in third phase), the estimated requirement of  PRI lines and Call Executives under the project were revised,” Delhi government said.

“Keeping all the factors in mind and the experience of the implementation of the project so far, it has been decided to authorize the Administrative Reforms (AR) department to take all operational decisions as per its requirements with the approval of the competent authority”, an official of the Government said.

It may be recalled that, in 2017, the council of ministers on the direction of Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal had approved the proposal of DSD. As per the Delhi government’s data base, there was a huge rush in incoming calls and the arrangement made at the Call Center with 30 Channels (01 PRI Line) and 40 Call Executives.

“The number of incoming calls started increase still further and within the first week of the launch on the directions of the minster of Administrative Reforms the number of PRI Lines have been increased to 10 (300 Channels) and one backup PRI Line (30 Channels). Call Center Executive were increased to a maximum of 407 at one point of time,” the official added.
