Ram-Hanuman Jayanti was celebrated with much fanfare in the Capital on Tuesday. On the occasion, a procession was taken out including jhaankis (tableau) and bhajan mandalis in the Walled City area.

The procession started at 4.30 pm from Ramlila Maidan and ended at Gangeshwar Dham Karol Bagh late evening. The faithful gathered at various places such as Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, Darya Ganj, Town Hall and MM Road to welcome the yatra. The event was organised by Hindu Parva Samanvaya Committee. Flagging off the procession, the international secretary general of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Dinesh Chandra, said that the 16th lok Sabha will serve the nation like Hanuman who solves every malaise of society. The combined yatra for Ram-Hanuman Jayanti will pave the way for Ram Rajya in Bharat, Chandra said.
