The Cluster Innovation Centre (CIC) of Delhi University released the dates for their examination registration process on Wednesday during the Open House session. While explaining the entire structure of the institution to students and parents, members of the CIC faculty said that little was known about the Centre resulting in limited applications.
Dr Suprita Paul, a professor at CIC said that the Centre was an institution which focuses primarily on innovation. She explained, “The CIC focuses more on the practical side of a degree. We offer two main courses, BTech/BS in Innovation with Mathematics and IT and BTech (Humanities). Within BTech in Innovation with Mathematics and IT we offer three main streams — Electronics and Robotics, Management and Economics, and System Biology.
“Under BTech (Humanities), the college provides Meta courses in Journalism, Education, Art and Design, Historic Tourism and Counseling. In this course, the students have to do their first and last semesters in CIC and study for the other semesters in any college they wish to under DU. However, no student can continue studying in one college for more than two semesters. This allows students the flexibility when it comes to the courses they want to study.”
Students can download application forms for the entrance test from the CIC website June 24 onwards. The last date of submission of forms is July 24 and the date of entrance test is July 27.In order to take admission in the Cluster Innovation Centre, students have to first get admission into a course in the Delhi University.
