The principal of St Mary’s Public School was arrested for running over a three-year-old child, police said on Friday. The incident was reported on Thursday morning from Nand Nagri in North-East Delhi. Varun, who was playing outside his home in 10 am in A-3 block of Nand Nagri, was crushed to death by the car being driven by the accused Jai Prakash. Panic gripped the area. “The victim was rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival,” said a police official. Prakash told police the boy came under the rear wheels of his car when he was reversing it. A case of rash and negligent driving was registered at Nand Nagri police station. Further investigations are underway.
