The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is likely to question a few more students of Ryan International School in Gurugram in connection with the murder of seven-year-old Pradyumn Thakur. The students are reported to be close friends of the 16-year-old boy who was detained by the CBI on Wednesday on charges of murder.
Sources claimed that CBI sleuths are checking call detail records (CDRs) of the juvenile. It was likely that the juvenile could have discussed the crime with his friends after murder of Prayuman in the school’s washroom. The CBI will also question school teachers and non-teaching staff of the school, sources said.
The CBI sleuths did not visit Gurugram on Friday as they were focusing on questioning the juvenile in detail as they got time till Saturday to interogate him, sources said.
Sources also claimed the agency got some important leads in the sequence of events that hinted at the possibility of co-conspirators in the case.
Earlier on Thursday, the CBI officials also took the juvenile to a shop in Sohna from where he had claimed to have purchased the murder weapon.
Meanwhile, arrested school Bus conductor Ashok Kumar’s lawyer moved a bail application in the court of Additional and Sessions Judge Rajni Yadav in Gurugram. The hearing has been scheduled for November 16.
“The CBI has given a clean-chit to my client as he was not involved in the heinous crime. That’s why I have filed a bail application in the court. I have been saying from the very beginning that my client has been made a scapegoat in the case to shield the real culprits,” Ashok’s councel Mohit Verma said.
“Ashok was brutally tortured to confess to the crime which he had not committed. The CBI investigation has nailed the real culprit and we will now file the defamation suit and seek action against the school management and the police,” Verma added.
