The Anti Corruption Branch has registered a case against inspector Rajkumari, posted at Dwarka (North) police station, for allegedly demanding bribe in a murder case.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Rajkumari — the investigation officer (IO) in the murder case of a complainant’s husband — demanded bribe from the complainant threatening to implicate and arrest her in the case. The complainant made the complaint at the newly-launched anti-corruption helpline-1031. It is understood that the inspector started demanding Rs 2 lakh from the woman, and after negotiations, agreed to settle down for Rs 75,000. The IO had no idea that the complainant was recording the whole conversation on her phone. Equipped by evidences, the complainant filed a complaint on the anti-corruption helpline. Further investigations are in the progress.
