The 15-year-old Shivika Dudani of Amity International School, Pushp Vihar, in South Delhi, has topped the national Capital in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class X exams. She had scored 498 out 500 marks. Thus she got second position in country and first in Delhi.

Shivika had scored 100 marks in English, Science and Social science. She got 99 out of 100 marks in both Hindi and Mathematics. "I am very happy with my marks. My exams went well. I was expecting above 95 per cent but had never thought of joining the top scorers’ league," she said.

Dudani's brother, Shivang, has also cleared the Class X exam results which were declared on Thursday. He secured 94 per cent marks in science stream — physics, chemistry and mathematics (PCM) and aspires to study at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).

Giving details about her routine Shivika said that she had made a time table which she used to follow strictly. "I used to wake up at 7 am daily and studied in the morning before leaving for school. During the board exam months, I followed a strict routine of 12-13 hours a day. I had set targets for each day which acts as incentives for me. I only used to get up during my meal breaks and take five minutes after completing every topic," said Shivika.

Giving advice to other students she said that it is not important how many hours you sit but how qualitative your studies are matters the most. "One should have focus during studies. When I used to lost focus generally I used to listen songs and chat with friends over phone. It helped me relax and focus again on my studies," said Shivika.
