The national Capital has been awarded the best shopping destination by lonely Planet Magazine India Travel Awards 2018. Sudhir Sobti, Chief Manager, Public Relation and Publicity of the Delhi Tourism received the award during the ceremony held in Mumbai.
A senior official of Delhi Tourism said the lonely Planet Magazine invited the country's elite travelers to choose their favorite destinations and most favoured travel experiences along with the jury of travel experts and professionals. "The readers voted online in large numbers across various categories," he said.
Delhi was awarded as the best shopping destination (India) followed by Mumbai and Bangalore while Dubai bagged the award in the international category. "The prestigious award proves once again how Delhi has come a long way in expanding its scope to the travelers and becoming a preferred tourist destination. The lonely Planet Magazine India Travel Awards is widely acknowledged as most prominent award in the travel Industry," the officials said.
