The automatic training centre was inaugurated by the Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot.

“Towards achieving zero fatality on roads, Delhi Government has already committed to develop a four KM stretch of Zero Fatality Corridor in Delhi.  But, we have to ensure that every driver is rigorously trained and certified. To ensure such safer road environment, Transport Department collaborated with Maruti Suzuki to create advanced, modular and scientific driving test mechanism and developed these centres,” said Gahlot.

Officials added that three more ADTCs will be started at Vishwas Nagar, Sarai Kale Khan and Shakur Basti. These ADTCs were developed by the Transport Department of Delhi Government in collaboration with a CSR initiative by Maruti Suzuki India Limited.

Use of advanced technology, including multiple HD cameras help to evaluate applicants against 20 essential driving skills, in-line with Central Motor Vehicles Rules. Gahlot said the Suzuki will maintain the project for next three years. Transport Department will set up similar ADTCs at eight other locations across the city.
