The leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta said that the results of by-elections to the Rajouri Garden seat of the Delhi Vidhan Sabha have conveyed that the people of Delhi have lost faith in Delhi Government and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
“The results of the bypoll have cleared the picture for the forthcoming municipal elections in Delhi on April 23. The people of Delhi have reposed full faith in the BJP and the party will win by a complete majority in the MCD polls and take Delhi forward on the path of development,” said Gupta.
“The people of the capital are well-read and understand whatever is happening in Delhi and they are not again going to fall prey to a cheating party like the AAP,” he added.
Recalling Arvind Kejriwal’s promises during the Assembly elections, Gupta said that the AAP came to power on the promise of helping the poor and to end corruption. But within a period of just two years, this power hungry party has got deeply involved in corruption.
“Ignoring all rules and regulations, the chief of this party started offering lunch to the guests at his residence at a cost of `16,000 per plate. He was even not ashamed of the fact that this belonged to the poor people of Delhi and it should have been spent for their welfare,” he added.
