Terming the Delhi Government’s Budget 2022-23 as “bundle of lies”, Delhi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Adesh Gupta alleged that the Arvind Kejriwal led Delhi Government had earlier talked of giving eight lakhs jobs in 2015 then promised 10 lakhs jobs and now it is 20 lakhs but the fact is so far it could give only 440 jobs which was revealed through an RTI.
Gupta further said that in this Budget proposals, there is provision of Rs 3062 crore for social pension while the fact is for the past two years it has not been given and now pension amount is nearly double of what has been provided now.
“In the Budget of Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has claimed increasing the limit of free power distribution and raising water output by 20 per cent. But the fact is the Government is praising itself by giving people a boring water supply rather than yamuna drinking water,” Gupta said.
Commenting on the budget, former Delhi BJP unit president, Vijendra Gupta said the budget presented by Delhi’s Finance Minister Sisodia is ‘visionless’ and devoid of substance.
MLA from Rohini, Vijender Gupta also said that the finance minister did not present any substantive planning or commitment, as to how job creation is being ensured in Delhi.
“In fact, they are only repeating their previous commitments for the past seven years. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had been pushing to create job creators over job seekers since he came into power at the Centre while the AAP government has only realised the virtue of entrepreneurship recently,” said former BJP president. He also said that the AAP Government talked big on entrepreneurship but it did not mention what would be its contribution in fulfilling the aspiration of Delhi’s youth. He added that the Budget does not speak of the manufacturing sector and has come as a disappointment to the traders in the national capital as well as those part of wholesale trade.
