The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Member of legislative Council (MlC), who beat up a retired police inspector, will face a criminal case in the local Ghaziabad court. The complaint has been filed by a retired police inspector CP Singh who alleged that he was scolded and threatened by MlC at his residence on August 2, 2011.

The complaint states that the BSP MlC Prashant Chaudhary alias Pappu Bhati, who had been named to contest the Baghpat parliamentary constituency against Chaudhary Ajit Singh by BSP Chief Mayawati, misused his power, sheltered two wanted

criminals scolded and threatened him to face dire consequences when he was waiting outside his house in the posh Raj Nagar residential colony.

The complaint further states that the two Personal Security Officers (PSOs) of Prashant Chaudhary are named in a case of fraud and cheating. Since he is the complainant in the case and both the accused are evading court appearance despite warrants. So he with the police force waited outside the MlC’s house to arrest the PSOs — Sukhpal and Devraj with the police help and was waiting stated now retired the police inspector CP Singh.

When the two persons came to know about the police presence and the complainant CP Singh requested the MlC to use his power so that the former police inspector could go from here.

The complaint stated that on the SPOs request the MlC called the inspector inside the house and asked why he was sitting outside his house with the police force. The inspector briefed him the reason. Hearing the reason of nabbing his security officers, the MlC got angry and scolded the ex-police cop and showed him the gate with threats further stated the complaint.

After returning from there, the complaint stated, he lodged a complaint with the Kavi Nagar police which did not entertain it. After the police refusal the ex-police officer used the provisions pried under Section 156 (3) of CrPC to get the order from the local court and filed a complaint with the local Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) III court.

When the MlC came to know about the petition they filed a revision before the court of ADJ XIII to grant the stay on the proceedings in the ACJM court but on Wednesday the court turned down their application and paved the way for the criminal proceedings in the court.
