Ghaziabad Police on Monday raided Royal Plaza Hotel, owned by a BSP leader and detained six couples who were found in objectionable positions. The police said they conducted the raid on a tip off that the hotel management was allowing young couples to stay there on an hourly basis for a price.

The police took the couples to Sihani Gate Police Station where they were detained for questioning.

The hotel on Ambedkar Road in Ghaziabad is owned by BSP leader Kamal Jatav, who is the coordinator of Meerut and Saharanpur districts.

"The process of registering an FIR is underway. Since the couples are under custody, the application of sections in FIR would be finalized after the interrogation is completed" said Akash Tomar, SP City.
