BRPl employee threatened inside ICU of AIIMS

A BRPl employee was allegedly threatened and attacked by some outsiders inside the ICU of the AIIMS Trauma Centre on Saturday. The BSES employee, Sahab Singh, had been admitted to the hospital after he was assaulted by a lajpat Nagar resident last week.

"In the evening, two goons entered the ICU and threatened Singh. In fact, they took the extreme step of removing his oxygen pipe too," stated a BSES spokesperson.

However, the chief of the trauma centre MC Mishra categorically opposed the claim of an outsider's access to remove the oxygen pipe of the patient.

He, however, said a person might have entered the ward and threatened him.

"The patient was operated due to an injury in his abdomen. He was examined and shifted to the ward. We are not sure about somebody coming and threatening the patient in the ward as people enter claiming to be relatives of the patient, but the possibility of someone pulling out the oxygen support is not there. Our doctors, nurses and security are always alert," Mishra underlined.

He said Singh was recovering and will be discharged in a day or two.

Singh was brought to the hospital along with three other officials of BRPl, who were accompanying him at the time of the incident.

They alleged that Subhash Saluja along with few others had assaulted and beaten them after they had approached him regarding the outstanding electricity bill of Rs 91, 400.
