A gang of four brutes murdered a 14-year-old boy when he refused to fetch a pack of cigarettes for them. The minor boy was thrashed and stabbed multiple times. The grisly murder took place in Bharat Nagar area of North-West district on Wednesday night. Police moved quickly and arrested two of the four accused on charges of murder while the two are still on the run.
A senior police official of North-West district said on Thursday that the shocking incident took place around 8 pm in Wazirpur JJ colony area. Ranjan was in the area with his friends. He had finished his dance classes and was out on a stroll when he was called by a group of four men drinking hooch. One of the four drunken louts reportedly asked Ranjan to fetch them a pack of gaspers. Ranjan refused to kowtow. Irate, the rubes caught Ranjan by the scruff of his neck and beat the living daylights out of him.
Ranjan was pinned to the ground and blows were rained on him. As a critically injured Ranjan lay writhing in pain, the accused fled the spot unchallenged. Ranjan was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police Control Room (PCR) was informed and local police officials rushed to the spot. Angry locals claimed the accused are residents of the nearby area and drink regularly at the park during evening hours.A case of murder has been registered at Bharat Nagar police station. Teams have been formed and raids are being conducted to nab the remaining accused. Ranjan’s body has been handed over to his family after an autopsy.
